Mobile Testing Training Programme
Learn the practical skills that matter in real testing environments. Our autumn 2025 programme focuses on hands-on debugging techniques and the testing approaches that actually get used in production apps.

Built Around Real Problems
We skip the theoretical fluff. You'll work with actual broken builds, debug real performance issues, and learn how to spot problems before they reach users.
The programme runs from September through November 2025, with weekend sessions that fit around work commitments. Most participants come from non-technical backgrounds – no coding experience needed to start.
What makes this different? We use the same testing environments and tools that development teams rely on daily. You'll learn by breaking things, fixing them, and understanding why mobile apps fail in specific ways.
What You'll Actually Learn
Six focused modules covering the testing fundamentals that employers look for when hiring testers.
Android Debug Basics
Connect to devices, read logcat outputs, and find crashes in system logs. You'll spend three sessions just getting comfortable with debugging tools.
iOS Testing Setup
Xcode console navigation, crash report analysis, and TestFlight deployment testing. We cover the Apple-specific quirks that trip up new testers.
Performance Monitoring
Memory leaks, battery drain patterns, and network request analysis. Learn to spot the performance issues that users complain about most.
Test Case Writing
Document bugs clearly, write reproducible test scenarios, and communicate issues to developers effectively. This module focuses heavily on written communication.
Automation Fundamentals
Basic script reading, understanding test frameworks, and knowing when automation makes sense. You won't become an automation engineer, but you'll understand how automated tests work.
Real Project Testing
Final three weeks involve testing a live project with actual deadlines. You'll work in small teams, report to a project lead, and experience what testing under pressure feels like.
Who Runs The Sessions
Three testers who've worked in mobile development for years and know what skills actually transfer to work environments.

Callum Pritchard
Spent eight years testing finance apps at three different studios. Teaches the debugging and iOS modules. Former career switcher himself.

Siobhan Gallagher
Works with gaming studios on performance optimization. Runs the performance monitoring sessions and helps with the final project work.

Fionnuala MacLeod
Technical writer turned tester who specializes in clear bug reporting. Handles the test case writing module and reviews all documentation.
